Why You Cannot Find Your Purpose

Why You Cannot Find Your Purpose

What is your purpose?

Purpose is defined as the reason that something was intentionally made.

So if you wonder what your purpose is in life, you are wondering if there is a reason that you specifically were made. In other words, what were you designed for doing?

Did you know that it is actually related to your very reason for existing?

We can only talk about your purpose by talking about the importance of you personally.

You, your worth, life, and purpose are all connected.

You were created with a purpose. You were created for a purpose.

You are a work of art. You are unique and possess unique talents and gifts.

So What Happened?

How did you lose your sense of true purpose?

Did you never discover it?

Maybe the worries of life and societal expectations got in the way.

Maybe you got lost, trying to be like everyone else.

Maybe you did not want a purpose, because that would mean you were meant for something, created for something...bigger than you.

We Cannot Serve Both God and Man

What is bigger than you?
What do you worship?
What does our world worship more than anything?

Seems like money is top of the list, and all that comes with it.

We cannot serve both God (Designer of You and Your True Purpose) and Money. Money in and of itself is not bad, but serving money above all else leads to all kinds of evil.

You cannot serve out your true purpose and worship anything (not just money) over your Creator.

Why Worship/Serve God?

God is your creator. God designed you with unique gifts/talents/attributes all for His perfect plan, that is your true purpose. God loves you.

God's plan is that His children as believers in Christ all work together as one body, using their unique talents and spiritual gifts.

If you are struggling to find your purpose, it is because you are trying to find it outside of God.

You cannot find your true purpose outside of God, because you are His creation.

He gave you free will to choose whom you will serve, but serving yourself or others or money will still not fulfill you, because it is not your purpose.

Good Works and Purpose

Even doing good work will not fulfill you or satisfy your Creator.
The only work that meets God's Holy criteria was done by His son, Christ Jesus on the cross.

Trusting in your Creator, you can accept the free gift of salvation and discover His will for your life.

Your "purpose" or attempts to find meaning and fulfillment in things outside of God are fleeting.

Your true Purpose is to be reconciled to your Creator through Christ, and with that comes the fulfillment of a Christian life.
